The Kings | Amarillo, Texas Maternity Photographer

I could not be happier for these parents-to-be. I first took their photos many years ago (2016, I think!) and I was ecstatic when Kaitlyn decided to book my Motherhood Collection and get her maternity, newborn, and family pictures done with me! These moments deserve to be documented.

As you might be able to tell by her gorgeous, elegant pink dress, they are having a little girl in May. I know they can’t wait to meet their little blessing! And neither can I!

Logan + Sydney | Springtime Engagement Pictures in Downtown Amarillo, Texas

Have you ever seen such an adorable couple!? These two dressed up so perfectly for their engagement photos in downtown Amarillo. He wore a classic blazer that complimented her sleek, white dress so wonderfully. We explored downtown for a little bit and even snuck up to the Barfield Hotel’s balcony for some gorgeous shots with the Amarillo skyline in the background.

Then, they changed to more casual and fun outfits and I suggested we drive to another location nearby that I had scouted the day before. It worked out so well because we had the best springtime day along with the blooming trees in the background. They were so natural together for the whole engagement session, but I feel like Sydney and Logan really came alive at that point!

I can’t wait for their wedding at the Resplendent Garden in Amarillo this summer!

Update from Kayla Smith Photography | Amarillo, Texas Family Photographer

I’ve made a lot of behind the scenes changes to my business recently with one goal in mind: I want to give my clients an elevated portrait experience in which you walk away from your photo session with more than a gallery of digital images. I want your portrait session to result in real, tangible family heirlooms - framed prints that will adorn your walls and albums that will sit on your coffee table that your one-day adult children will leaf through when they come back to visit. These are core memories we are creating and you deserve for them to be out in the open - not collecting digital dust in the cloud somewhere.

Alexis and Ben | Amarillo, Texas Engagement Pictures at the Barfield Hotel and Palo Duro Canyon

We started this engagement photography session at the amazing Barfield Hotel in Amarillo, Texas. This was Alexis and Ben’s idea and I absolutely loved it! It has the prettiest Art Deco vibes that I am totally in love with. After exploring the hotel and then a little bit of Downtown Amarillo, we headed out to Palo Duro Canyon for some more fun, casual pictures. Alexis and Ben are going to be getting ready at the Barfield for their wedding later this fall and then getting married across the street at the Amarillo Club. I can’t wait!

When I’m taking maternity pictures in Amarillo, I always want to make sure I’m maximizing the sweet connections between family members (especially with older siblings) and my session with the Ramirez family had tons of connection! Despite the breezy late winter day, this family laughed, played, and had so much fun celebrating their growing family. I can’t wait to photograph their newborn pictures in their home once little sister arrives!

Tips For Achieving Timeless, Natural Newborn Pictures in Your Home | Amarillo Newborn Photographer

I love lifestyle newborn sessions because parents can look back at the pictures and remember everything about what their baby was like in those first few weeks: the tiny toes, the weight in your arms, the little sleepy yawns, and all of the love you felt during that time. It flies by so quickly. I love that the pictures reflect REAL LIFE and the real emotions you are feeling - all in the comfort of your own home and in the place where you will spend countless hours rocking your baby to sleep, feeding him, and snuggling.
