Kelsay and Ryan’s day was everything they hoped it would be: beautiful, peaceful, and fun, and most of all, a big celebration with their families and friends! These two are a breath of fresh air.
They got married at the chapel on West Texas A&M’s campus in Canyon. After the ceremony, they retreated to the Whitaker Ranch outside of town where the party began. In a beautiful outdoor reception as the sun went down, they cut their cake, said toasts, and danced under the Texas night sky.

It allowed us to take our time and get some amazing shots of them in their wedding attire in a much more relaxed setting than the wedding day. They are super laid back, easy going people and we had a lot of fun getting to know each other a little bit before their day. I think it made the wedding day go that much smoother!

The wedding took place in Chloe’s home which is one of the oldest houses in Canyon, Texas. Her mom, Carrie, even showed me a picture of the first family that built the house 100+ years ago. Chloe got ready for her day in her childhood bedroom - complete with Annie Oakley posters on the wall (I love that!). I took her detail pictures of her shoes and rings on the wooden staircase.

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous to be back shooting weddings but those feelings quickly dissipated when the day began. The details of this wedding were out of this world! Anything with a lot of color has my heart.

While I always try to get those posed pictures, I feel like the magic truly happens with kids have fun, laugh, and just be themselves! We got so much of that during their family photos in Wolflin. Especially with Lucy, their adorable little girl who looks like she walked straight out of a 1950s advertisement. What a doll. My favorites from the session are probably the mother daughter pictures in that dreamy late summer light.

Lisa and Les have friends that live there so they were able to take us around in their truck. We started at Devil’s Kitchen - one of the coolest rock formations in the Texas Panhandle. If you look past the name, it’s quite the romantic spot. Lisa and Les were ready to have fun, enjoy the moments, and capture their love.
